At Oakthorpe we aim for high standards and outstanding achievement in a creative and fun environment. We encourage children to be successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens and therefore emphasise the importance of respect, good manners, pride in our work and a sense of responsibility amongst our children and provide the widest possible curriculum in a positive climate that enables everyone to succeed.
Oakthorpe is a very special place for children and staff and we are proud of our ‘outstanding’ reputation. This is due to the dedication of a highly commited team of staff working in close partnership with our children and families.

Oakthorpe Primary School acts in a 'lead school' role in providing theSchool Direct Salaried Programme and a SCITT programme We work in partnership with other schools in the surrounding area to offer a school-based route into teaching.
