Our School Day

We provide rich and enabling learning environments, centred around the children's interests, where we encourage children to develop their skills through play and exploration, both inside and outside the classroom.

We ensure that our provision supports children in their learning, through teaching them new skills, building on their previous knowledge and challenging them to make further progress in their learning.

For a large part of the day, children are exposed to a free-flowsystem; whereby they can choose to play and learn inside either of our classrooms or in our outdoor area.

At set times throughout the day, children will be involved in structured lessons. These include daily phonics and supported reading sessions, as well as lessons and activities targeted at developing their skills in all other areas of learning, including Literacy and Mathematics. An example of our Spring Timetable is linked below.

We take part in lots of enrichment activities such as local trips, visitors to the school, performances and many more! We also encourage parents to engage in our learning too, through events such as Story Cafes, Assemblies, Information Meetings and events such as our Flower Festival!

“The Early Years provides a stimulating learning environment where children explore independently and learn through structured learning activities. Planned activities are exciting, and encourage children to use all their senses to build their knowledge and understanding of the world. “
